About Us

My Name is Tracy Sauer. My background has been in the service trades industry. I am a College Trained Furniture Technician, Designing, Building, Repairing, Finishing, Re finishing & Re Spraying Fine Pieces of furniture professionally since 1984 when I purchased the Former Campbell's Furniture Refinishing (est. 1968). I have learned a great deal about quality service and most importantly what  my customers want and expect from me. I professionally Spray Water Based Lacquer for Long Lasting Durable Chip Resistant Finishes.

The True North Spraying Services Inc. Business Model was created to cater to the home owner who requires pickup & delivery of there furniture and prefers to conduct business conveniently online through this website and then through email.

True North Spraying Services Inc. does not have a show room were we keep pieces or samples of completed items, the model created starts by having potential customers send photos of the furniture along with details about there request. The photos allow us to view the type and condition of the current finish. Once that has been determined a detailed quote is created providing the options that are available for those perticular pieces.

The quote includes the type of service that is available, the cost of that service, the approximate time needed before pickup is possible, the approximate time needed to complete the work, the deposit required for the work as well as restrictions that may apply on the pickup itself.

The pricing that is offered includes pickup & delivery with (1) driver, carts, a truck & a cargo trailer, often times some pieces require a second person to help load and unload these items at your home, we provide you then with two options, #1 you can have someone from your end assist with this or #2 we can provide a (2 nd) person at additional cost to you. We will include in the quote based on the information you provide whether a second person is needed and what additional charges would apply for a second person from our end.

True North Spraying Services Inc. mostly caters to customers requiring a custom tinted coloured lacquer or stain, we therefore do not keep samples of what is possible, there are thousands of colours that can be selected for the lacquer from the colour pallette's of Pratt & Lambert or Benjamin Moore. When it comes to stain colours there are also numerous options. There are at least 8 different types of stain I can use each with its own characteristics, there are at least  (6) common wood species used in older furniture building (Oak, Maple, Walnut, Mahogany, Pine, Birch) there is also 6 different ways to cut that wood, each exposing the grain in a different manor, each absorbing stain differently. There are (4) sheens of clear lacquer available (Matte, Satin, Semi Gloss & Gloss) That means there would be (1152) samples needed to cover the basic range of possibilities. More & more furniture however is being made with Asian & or tropical species of wood that puts the possible samples needed into the several thousands.

How we overcome this is by having customers provide us with a sample of the stain colour there looking for, this can be a small drawer or piece  that can be taken to the stain store for custom tinting a copy. We take the sample piece in, we provide a sample piece of bare wood from the species type and cut of your furniture, the store will mix colours and find a stain sample that will absorb into your furniture giving a match as close as possible to the sample provided.

True North Spraying Services Inc. often gets asked if customers can drop by and bring furniture for quoting or for spraying, we do not allow this for the following reasons. We are located in the Country Side near the shore of Lake Erie, this is usually inconvenient for the vast majority of customers as our service area is within 30 minutes North & South of Hwy #401 in the GTA area as well as  the South Western Ontario Region. We do make exceptions however additional traveling charges would apply.

We are not in the storage business nor do we charge for storage of furniture beyond the time needed to actually complete the work, we only keep furniture here that is ready for spraying or being worked on, otherwise it is a liability to have sitting around. We have to schedule all customers to fit into the system so as to not disrupt the flow of furniture being worked on, any visits that are made by customers disrupt that flow and slow us down, this causes unbillable hours and we loose time & money.

Our method allows us to keep pricing down as low as possible by not having a high overhead, downtime and the liability associated with storing large amounts of furniture that are not being worked on.

We will be happy to answer any questions you may have by sending those questions by email or by requesting a phone call from us through email when you provide your phone number and a window of availability to call you, we do this when we take breaks in between spraying, these breaks vary, we do not answer the phone unless we happen to be on one of these breaks, to do so would interrupt the spraying process. When spraying lacquer it is crucial to spray the entire item(s) at the same time in order to achieve an even sheen as lacquer is a fast drying product that requires the sprayer to pay attention and remain focused on that job.

True North Spraying Services Inc. looks forward to hearing from you, Thanks Very Much for considering our business model.
